Ecotoxicology in a rapidly changing environment
Bonnie M. Hamilton
Welcome! I am a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Ottawa and ecotoxicologist based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My research interests include the fate, transport and ecological impacts of emerging contaminants of concern. Currently, my research focuses on understanding the ecological impact of emerging contaminants on aquatic ecosystems under a warming climate, particularly in Polar and alpine environments. I have a transdisciplinary approach to my research, encompassing different knowledge streams and academic disciplines through collaborations and co-creations with multiple Indigenous community partners. I am also an active science communicator and participate in various local, national, and international platforms geared toward youth interested in STEM. When I am not in the field, you can usually find me by the nearest body of water. If you have an idea, or wish to discuss all things ecotox/contaminant research, please reach out – I would love to hear from you!
